Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Labor and Delivery Department. You will provide patient-centered care, educate families, and model nursing excellence across a 36-hour weekly schedule of three 12-hour night shifts.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, NCLEX passage, Maryland RN license, and BLS; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required by specialty.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Passing NCLEX examination
• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area (NRP for L&D)

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards
• Use equipment and technology correctly and maximize efficiency
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population
• Identify changes in patient condition and take corrective action
• Mentor students and team members in patient-centered care
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in practice changes
