Job summary

UC Health West Chester Hospital in Ohio is seeking an Obstetrics Technician (Full Time, Day shift) to assist in Labor and Delivery under RN supervision. The role provides basic patient care, supports safety, and helps meet the needs of obstetrical patients and families.

Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal deliveries, scrub duties for obstetrical procedures, bedside glucose checks, and ensuring OB supplies and equipment are ready.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire is required.
• Preferred: STNA.
• No experience required; OR operating room experience preferred.
• Student from an NLN-accredited RN program with clinical rotation is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Engages in population-appropriate communication.
• Performs delegated clinical care under RN supervision.
• Performs scrub duties for obstetrical surgical cases.
• Assists with vaginal deliveries.
• Weighs patient and performs bedside glucose checks.
• Performs QC on lab instruments.
• Communicate with OB Manager on supply chain issues.
• Assists with patient transport and discharge as directed.
• Maintains OB supplies and stock levels.
