Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Labor & Birth is seeking an experienced RN to transition into Labor & Birth, offering full-time night shifts and dedicated training to build advanced maternity nursing skills.

You will provide high-acuity, family-centered care in collaboration with obstetricians, midwives, NICU and surgical teams, while expanding your clinical expertise through formal education and certifications. If you hold an accredited nursing degree (ADN, Diploma, or BSN), Missouri RN licensure,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN License in Missouri or eligibility for licensure.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Previous RN experience in an acute care or applicable clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and recovery.
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and respond to changes.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Educate and support patients and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Utilize fetal monitoring, labs, and data to guide care.
• Participate in bedside handoffs and patient safety initiatives.
• Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Maintain professional growth through certifications, continuing education, and specialty development.
