Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking an experienced Labor & Birth Registered Nurse to join our team.

You will deliver comprehensive nursing care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages, partnering with physicians, midwives, and neonatal teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care. You will monitor maternal and fetal conditions, interpret fetal monitoring, support vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, and assist with neonatal stabilization as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN License (Missouri or compact state).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Recent Labor & Delivery, Labor & Birth, Mother-Baby, Women’s Services, or LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to maternal and fetal conditions.
• Interpret fetal monitoring and communicate findings to providers.
• Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and high-risk pregnancies.
• Assist with neonatal stabilization and resuscitation when needed.
