Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking an experienced Labor & Birth Registered Nurse to join our Labor & Delivery team in a full-time capacity.

You’ll provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum, collaborating with OB physicians, midwives and neonatal teams to deliver high-quality, patient‑centered care. You’ll lead with evidence-based practice, mentor new nurses, and participate in quality improvement initiatives while supporting families through the birth journey in

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN License (Missouri or compact state).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Recent Labor & Delivery, Labor & Birth, Mother-Baby, Women’s Services, or LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to maternal and fetal conditions.
• Interpret fetal monitoring and communicate findings to providers.
• Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and high-risk pregnancies.
• Assist with neonatal stabilization and resuscitation when needed.
