Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced Labor & Birth/ Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join the team at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

You will provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, collaborating with OB physicians, midwives, and neonatal teams to ensure safe, evidence-based outcomes. The role requires a nursing degree (ADN/ Diploma/ BSN), MO or compact-state RN licensure, BLS certification, and recent L&D experience.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
Current RN License (Missouri or compact state).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
Recent Labor & Delivery, Labor & Birth, Mother-Baby, Women’s Services, or LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
Assess, monitor, and respond to maternal and fetal conditions.
Interpret fetal monitoring and communicate findings to providers.
Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and high-risk pregnancies.
Assist with neonatal stabilization and resuscitation when needed.
Partner with patients and families in decision-making and education.
