Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor and Delivery. This 12-week contract offers 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with a $70 per hour rate.

The RN will deliver safe perinatal care using the nursing process, provide direct patient care, and educate patients and families within the Birthplace. Active state RN license required; BSN preferred and required certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provide for a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilize the chain of command to ensure newborn/mother care during antepartum and postpartum periods.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain curren
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current
