Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Texas is seeking a registered nurse to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the Birthplace. You will provide direct patient care and guide patient/family teaching, maintaining a safe environment for mother and newborns during antepartum and postpartum periods.

The role requires a valid RN license and certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP, fetal monitoring) with priority given to those with STABLE and AWHONN certifications.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching.
• Maintain safe environment for patients and visitors; respond quickly to changes in condition or treatment.
• Coordinate care with the Birthplace team and ensure newborns and mothers receive appropriate care.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred
• STABLE preferred
