Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center, a 202-bed acute care hospital and part of Prime Healthcare, delivers quality patient care with compassion and community focus. The Registered Nurse will provide direct obstetric and newborn care in the Birthplace, applying nursing process, monitoring mother and baby, and guiding families while ensuring safety and standards of care on a dynamic, full-time day shift.

Required qualifications include a valid state RN license, BSN preferred, BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Birthplace.
• Guide patient and family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provide for a safe environment for patients and visitors; maintain standards of care for newborns and mothers antepartum and postpartum.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred

3. BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
