Job description

What Nuclear Manufacturing contributes to Cardinal Health

Manufacturing is responsible for the cost of production and maintenance activities, including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Nuclear Manufacturing is responsible for producing time-sensitive radiopharmaceuticals in a highly regulated environment (i.e., FDA, NRC, DOT) to support patient diagnosis, staging, and monitoring of diseases.

Shift/Schedule
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Operates Sunday – Thursday from 7:30 pm to 4:00 am, and alternates Monday – Friday from 1:00 am to 9:30 am and 4:00 am to 12:30 pm based on business needs.
  • Includes holiday rotations.
  • Flexibility required to work different days, schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Complete extensive training, including e-learning and hands-on components, to maintain proficiency.
  • Manufacture radioactive isotopes, including synthesis setup, hot cell manipulations, and distribution.
  • Conduct quality control testing using various laboratory instruments.
  • Work in ISO 7 cleanroom to prepare product and customer vials.
  • Perform environmental and personnel monitoring in ISO 5, 7, and 8 environments.
  • Coordinate daily production schedules based on customer and pharmacy needs.
  • Maintain proper documentation, communicate effectively, and perform clerical tasks.
  • Manage SAP inventory, including receiving, inspecting, and cycle counting materials.
  • Perform daily radiation safety tasks and maintain a clean lab environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; education in sciences preferred.
  • 0-1 years of experience preferred; lab experience highly valued.
  • Able to work overnight shifts.
  • Prior manufacturing experience in a controlled or regulated environment preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and manage multiple tasks.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and distinguish colors and particulates.
  • Manual dexterity for equipment operation.

  • Maintain necessary licenses, training, and certifications.
  • Work under close supervision within standard procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and seek approval for deviations.

Pay Rate

$23.10/hr
