Job summary

Greene County Medical Center is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician to join the clinical laboratory team in Jefferson, IA. The role involves obtaining specimens, performing complex tests, and ensuring accurate data entry for patient diagnoses and treatment.

The position requires a graduate from an approved Medical Laboratory Program and an ASCP certification is preferred. Expect varied shifts and potential travel to other departments as needed to support the community's health services.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Program.
• Has an Associate degree of Applied Science.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens and maintain specimen equipment.
• Perform complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
• Analyze laboratory findings to check accuracy of the results.
• Enter data from analysis of medical tests and clinical results into computer for storage.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Complete clerical duties involving the laboratory.
• May travel to other departments and community to collect specimens.
