Job summary

ALS Group USA, Corp is hiring a Laboratory Technician in Utah to prepare industrial hygiene samples for trace metals analysis and crystalline silica testing using ICP-AES, ICP-MS, Cold Vapor AAS, or XRD. The role includes equipment maintenance and strict adherence to SOPs to ensure data quality.

The candidate should have 1+ years in a lab or an Associate’s Degree, with strong Excel/Word skills and the ability to learn LIMS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• 1+ years of laboratory experience or an Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills with Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Proficient in or able to learn the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Interpersonal and communications skills are strong.
• Initiate corrective action and assist co-workers to meet deadlines.
• Able to work under pressure with large sample volumes and short turnarounds.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis as assigned.
• Perform gravimetric determinations.
• Meet QA requirements.
• Document activities and report results concisely.
• Work within established QC parameters and turnaround times.
• Collaborate with other technicians and analysts.
• Identify and report quality problems to the supervisor or QA department.
• Assist with preparation of analytical standards, reagents, and solutions.
• Maintain safe working conditions and a clean, organized work area.
• Follow SOPs and methodologies without deviation.
• Strong commitment to quality and integrity.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
