Job summary

ALS is seeking a Metals Analyst to conduct instrumental analysis of environmental samples using ICP, ICP-MS, CVAAS, and AFS technologies. Responsibilities include preparing standards, calibrating instruments, processing data, and maintaining safe, organized lab conditions.

Requirements include a 4-year chemistry degree, strong Excel/Word skills, and effective communication. The role emphasizes teamwork, problem solving, and adherence to quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field.
• Strong computer skills including Excel and Word.
• Able to multitask, organized, and detail oriented.
• Excellent English communication, verbal and written.
• Team player with problem-solving abilities.
• Laboratory environment experience is helpful.
• Familiarity with quality control processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standards and reagents.
• Tune, calibrate, and run analytical sequences per SOP.
• Learn and use software to process data.
• Troubleshoot analytical systems and non-conformities.
• Document results in logbooks and bench sheets.
• Understand quality control requirements.
• Maintain safe working conditions and proper safety equipment.
• Keep work environment clean and orderly.
• Other duties as assigned.
