Job summary

ALS is seeking a Laboratory Technician to prep industrial hygiene samples for trace metals analysis and silica using ICP-AES, ICP-MS, Cold Vapor AAS or XRD. You will also assist with equipment maintenance and follow all SOPs to ensure accuracy and safety.

You will collaborate with fellow technicians to meet QA requirements and turnaround times while maintaining a clean, safe work area and documenting results clearly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree or lab experience preferred.
• Proficient verbal and written communication.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare industrial hygiene samples for trace metals analysis and silica by ICP-AES, ICP-MS, AAS or XRD.
• Perform gravimetric determinations and QA documentation.
• Maintain compliance with SOPs and safety policies.
• Document activities and report results concisely and accurately.
• Collaborate with technicians and analysts to meet turnaround times.
• Assist with preparation of analytical standards, reagents and solutions.
