Job summary

ALS is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician in our Wet Chemistry Department to prepare environmental samples for analysis of inorganic contaminants, focusing on Cyanide, Hexavalent Chromium, pH, and percent solids. You will follow SOPs, perform calibrations, standardizations, and data entry while upholding safety and ISO 17025 compliance in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or laboratory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of good laboratory practice.
• Comfortable in a high paced productionenvironment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests as outlined by the SOPs.
• Performing all scheduled calibrations, standardization and SPC tests.
• Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with ALS health and safety policies, procedures.
• Routine maintenance of testing instrumentation.
• Properly completing all paperwork used to track tests and their validity.
• Loading data for tests performed.
• Maintaining a clean, safe work area.
• Accurately recording personal production and meeting production requirements.
• Routing samples for additional testing as outlined by SOPs.
• Storing and disposing of samples properly.
• Complying with local and corporate quality assurance policies, as well as ISO 17025 lab accreditation requirements.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as required
