Job summary

Aecon Engineering Service Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aecon Group Inc., is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Materials Engineering Laboratory in Milford, MA. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in machining, testing, laboratory maintenance and/or failure analysis, materials aging and selection, welding, fabrication, and corrosion.

We are a multidisciplinary team on a wide range of technical projects, including Nuclear Power and Medical Device contexts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience, preferably with laboratory experience.
• Willingness to work with low-level radioactively contaminated components.
• Technical background with an understanding of materials performance and degradation.
• Knowledge of failure mechanisms and mechanical properties of materials.
• Ability to multitask, take on challenging projects, and provide solutions.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understands the importance of business development.

Responsibilities

• Provide machining and technical support in a materials laboratory environment.
• Receive, label, and safely store specimens to be tested.
• Design, machine, and build test fixtures.
• Perform tests in support of analysis and provide input to technical reports.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and space, including calibration.
