Job summary

Aecon Engineering Service Inc., Milford, MA, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Materials Engineering Laboratory. The role involves machining, testing, lab maintenance, failure analysis, materials aging, welding, and corrosion work on diverse projects. You will join a multidisciplinary team on nuclear and related projects, receive and prepare specimens, design fixtures, perform tests, and contribute to technical reports while advancing your career within Aecon.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years related engineering experience, preferably with lab experience.
• Willingness to work with low-level radioactively contaminated components.

Responsibilities

• Provide machining and technical support in a materials laboratory.
• Receive, label, and safely store specimens.
• Design, machine, and build test fixtures.
• Perform tests to support analysis and contribute to reports.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Stay current on laboratory advances.
• Be hands-on and address challenging materials problems.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for integrated solutions.
