Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is hiring a Lab Technician III at our Technical Innovation Center in Hunt Valley, Maryland. The role supports new food product development by blending materials, testing prototypes, and evaluating formulas to drive successful launches of condiments and sauces.

The candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus 3+ years of lab experience and a science-focused education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience (work experience and/or college coursework)
• Advanced lab skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to investigate issues, identify solutions and provide recommendations to supervisors.
• Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision and work well under pressure.
• Good oral and written communication and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing new condiment and sauce formulas by blending raw materials and conducting precise analytical assessments to quantify physical properties.
• Assist other lab technicians on product development efforts across categories other than condiments if time permits.
• Perform internal taste tests and product evaluations to assess sensory attributes and gather feedback for improvements.
• Interact with R&D personnel and cross-functional partners to facilitate project completion.
• Participate in selection of equipment and laboratory supplies.
• Manage and replenish inventory of raw materials in the lab.
• Collect, record, and maintain accurate data related to raw materials and formula development.
