Qualifications

Ability to handle data and document quality control.
Experience with specimen processing and run setup.
Strong communication skills for internal/external contacts.
Ability to maintain equipment and supplies.
Preference for some college biology coursework.

Responsibilities

Understands appropriate specimen collection, handling, and transport per departmental procedures.
Processes, triages, routes, and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Evaluates specimens for acceptability and follows procedures for those not meeting criteria.
Prepares, organizes, and reviews specimens for run setup and patient ID accuracy.
Prepares reagents according to laboratory requirements.
Performs selected tests as allowed by regulatory guidelines.
Documents quality control and assists with equipment maintenance.
