Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant in the Richmond area to perform prep work, order registration and accessioning, and to collect specimens via phlebotomy in alignment with established procedures. The role includes inventory maintenance, waivered testing, and slide preparation.

Responsibilities include assisting technologists with instruments and reagents, ensuring specimen integrity, and handling clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Keyboarding or data experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with respectful service.
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and transport to lab.
• Assist technologists with instrument loading, reagents, thawing and blood products.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and inform appropriate staff.
• Perform clerical duties: inventory checks, stocking, answering phones.
• Travel to off-site locations as needed.
