Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant who will perform pre-analytical and analytical laboratory duties, including registering and accessioning orders, verifying specimen acceptability, and performing phlebotomy to ensure proper processing.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, stocking waived testing, and slide preparation, with travel to off-site locations as needed. A High School degree or GED is required, and an Associate in Biology or Chemistry is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry is preferred.
• Laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
• Keyboarding or data experience is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with respectful customer service.
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and transport to the lab.
• Assist technologists by loading instruments, preparing reagents, thawing, pooling, and issuing blood products.
• Identify instrument or equipment malfunctions and inform colleagues as needed.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and answering phones.
• Other duties as assigned.
