Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a phlebotomist to join our laboratory team in Georgia. The role includes performing sample processing, venipuncture, and specimen preparation in accordance with CMS/CLIA and state requirements.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of relevant experience, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to support non-clinical tasks. Enrollment in related lab programs may substitute for experience; EKG duties are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor or laboratory assistant.
• Enrollment in Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program may substitute for experience.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS/CLIA, OSHA and Georgia Department of Health standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
