Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection, processing, and related tests in a regulated clinical laboratory. You will draw blood, prepare specimens, and support technical staff to ensure accurate patient results.

Candidates with at least one year of relevant experience, High School diploma or GED, and knowledge of lab processes are preferred; experience with EKGs and healthcare settings is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One (1) year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor or laboratory assistant.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes preferred.
• Experience performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
• Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
