Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Specimen Processor/Phlebotomy support staff to join our laboratory team. This role performs specimen procurement and processing, supports laboratory operations, and participates in a career ladder with appropriate title and pay based on education and experience.

You will organize tasks to meet turnaround times, perform data entry and sterile techniques, and assist with PHI handling per UH policies.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
• Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing
• Competent in the collection or processing of specialized samples.
• Performs with minimal error rate.
• Acts as a trainer and is a resource to other Specimen Processor Phlebotomists.
• Needs minimal supervision and problems solves with little or no supervision.
