Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification required upon hire or within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in a customer service or patient care environment.
• Must have experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect urine, blood, and other specimens from patients.
• Identify patients and follow collection procedures.
• Enter outpatient orders into Laboratory Information System.
• Register patients with demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data in LIS.
• Process and prepare specimens for testing while maintaining sample integrity.
• Facilitate drug screens according to protocol.
• Order phlebotomy supplies as needed.
• Package and ship specimens to reference laboratories.
• Maintain neat, clean patient/work areas and adhere to HIPAA/OSHA standards.
• Provide compassionate customer service to patients and staff.
