Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a part-time Specimen Processor/Phlebotomist at Elyria Medical Center to support inpatient services. The role involves specimen procurement, processing, data entry, and phlebotomy with strict adherence to PHI and departmental standards.

The position offers an evening shift starting at 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM, 20 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. Sign-on bonus eligibility applies for new hires, as noted in the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens.
• Provides laboratory support functions.
• Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
• Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing
• Competent in the collection or processing of specialized samples.
• Performs with minimal error rate.
• Acts as a trainer and is a resource to other Specimen Processor Phlebotomists.
• Needs minimal supervision and problems solves with little or no supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
• Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Sign-on Bonus:

This position is eligible for a$1000 sign-on bonusto eligible candidates. Eligible candidates must be newly hired to UH.

University Hospitals is offering a$1,000 sign on bonus,minus applicable taxes, for designated regular Phlebotomy positions.

Internal Applicants are not eligible for the sign on bonus.
