Job summary

Mercy Clinic is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) to support reports, data and scheduling in the laboratory. You will collect specimens, handle transport, and assist technologists with testing while upholding HIPAA and Mercy Service Standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of phlebotomy or clinical lab experience; college-level chemistry or biology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.
• Previous Mercy LST II designation or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: college-level chemistry, biology or other science courses.
• Phlebotomy preceptor experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support for reports, data and scheduling.
• Acquire specimens using safe, professional methods.
• Process, transport and refer laboratory specimens and reports.
• Perform limited laboratory testing and assist technologists as required.
• Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality and Mercy Service Standards.
