Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) to join the provider care team and support reporting, data and scheduling for the laboratory. The role emphasizes accurate specimen collection, HIPAA compliance, timely processing and safe transport of specimens while upholding Mercy Service Standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year of phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience, with potential advancement after completing facility competencies.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: One year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience. Previous Mercy LST II designation or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: College level chemistry, Biology or other Science courses.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy preceptor experience.

Responsibilities

• Satisfactorily complete facility competencies to be eligible for advancement.
• Have no active disciplinary actions or active performance improvement plans.
• Successfully complete the probationary period.
