Job summary

Encino Hospital Medical Center in Encino, California, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our CLIA-compliant team. You will perform pre-analytical and clerical duties under supervision, support specimen collection, and help with routine laboratory workflows across multiple departments.

Required are a HS Diploma or equivalent, CA Phlebotomy Technician I/II license for phlebotomy, current BCLS, and BLS within 45 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or II license required for phlebotomy.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintain current.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical tasks and computer entry.
• Greet patients and maintain professional telephone etiquette.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory test terminology.
• Perform venipuncture or skin puncture only if CA-certified.
• Process specimens across departments (pre-analytical).
• Prepare and store reagents; assist with quality control.
