Job summary

Saint Luke's South is seeking a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to support the laboratory team. The role involves collecting patient samples using phlebotomy best practices and documenting receipt in the LIS, preparing specimens for analysis.

Shift is Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with rotating Saturdays 8:00am–12:00pm. Requires ASCP Phlebotomy Technician certification and less than 1 year of applicable experience, working full-time in Overland Park, KS.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience and ability to collect patient samples.
• Proficiency with documenting receipt in the LIS and preparing samples for analysis.
• Good communication with nursing and unit staff to relay collection information.

Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy. Documents receipt of patient samples in Lab Information System (LIS) and prepares them for analysis.

Shift Details: Monday thru Friday 8am to 4:30pm with rotating Saturdays 8am to 12pm.

Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.

Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.

Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
