Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to support our lab team. The role includes blood draws, specimen processing, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

The position is PRN with primary coverage from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and requires adherance to policy and regulatory standards for specimen collection.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect patient samples in accordance with policy and standards.
• Document receipt of samples in LIS/EMR and prepare for testing.
• May perform basic laboratory testing as needed.
• Use knowledge to resolve issues affecting sample collection.
• Communicate with nursing and unit staff about collections.

Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park is looking for a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to support our lab team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform blood draws and process specimens. Our lab is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team with diverse backgrounds and experience levels, which ensures our vision of being "The best place to get care. The best place to give care." The Work :

• PRN: as needed, but primarily 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. shift coverage
• Collects patient samples in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Documents receipt of patient samples in the LIS/EMR; processes and prepares samples for testing.
• May perform and report basic laboratory testing, as needed.
• Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection
• Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections
