Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience supporting both Linux and Windows server environments.
• Strong understanding of server hardware and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, Ansible and Puppet.
• Knowledge of VLANs, VPNs and routing.
• Experience with rack-mounted equipment, BIOS/firmware upgrades, and out-of-band management.

Responsibilities

• Develop documentation, standards, and repeatable operational processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Partner with teams located globally, including Bristol engineers.

Insight Global is seeking a Lab Support Engineer to join a growing technology team in Austin, TX. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving Linux and Windows-based server environments that support hardware development, reliability testing, and engineering validation efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux administration experience, hands‑on server and hardware knowledge, and a passion for automation. This role goes beyond traditional support and requires someone who can build, improve, and automate infrastructure while ensuring high availability across complex lab environments.

Responsibilities:

• Support and administer Linux and Windows server environments

• Install, rack, troubleshoot, and replace server hardware and components

• Support engineering teams with data collection systems and testing environments

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-6+ years of Linux systems administration experience
• Experience supporting both Linux and Windows server environments
• Strong understanding of server hardware and troubleshooting
