Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID seeks a Lab Supervisor to plan, manage, and supervise the phlebotomy department, ensuring quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across testing. The role requires MT/MLS/CLS or ASCP/AMT certification, a Bachelor’s in CLS or related field, and 3 years’ experience in a specialty area, plus strong human-relations, communications and management skills.

Qualifications

• Must have MT/MLS/CLS or equivalent ASCP/AMT certification; Histotechnologist/Cytotechnologist cert preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or related field required.
• 3 years of experience in a specialty area preferred.
• Must have experience in human relations, communications and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, orients, and mentors department colleagues.
• Plans, prepares and coordinates work schedules for adequate coverage and efficiency.
• Maintains department procedures according to regulatory requirements.
• Ensures QC testing and proficiency testing per guidelines and resolves out-of-control results.
• Communicates with pathologists, nurses, clinicians, and units to ensure quality of laboratory testing and performance.
