Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System seeks a Lab Manager, ASCP MT CERTIFIED, to lead diverse laboratory services across Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion, Microbiology, and Histology. You will oversee quality, costs, and staffing, collaborating with the regional director and medical center leadership.

Requires MT/MLS certification, a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science, and at least five years in hospital labs with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program required.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in laboratory services in a hospital or other complex lab.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mission, vision, and values in behaviors and decisions.
• Manages team performance to established levels per medical center guidelines.
• Plans schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient personnel use.
• Maintains procedure manuals per regulatory requirements.
• Ensures accurate and timely testing results per standards.
• Ensures QC testing is performed, recorded, and evaluated and resolves out-of-control results promptly.
• Coordinates with regional director to align lab programs with strategic initiatives.
• Care for testing across Neonate to Geriatric age groups.
• Oversees coding accuracy, CDM management, and supply management.
