Job summary

Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT is seeking a receptionist to support Laboratory registration, order entry, and reception. You will collect patient demographics, verify insurance, and obtain required signatures on authorizations when needed.

Applicants should have a HS diploma, 1+ year of customer service or related experience, and a CT driver’s license. Data entry skills and knowledge of hospital processes are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service/ reception/ medical billing / admin roles.
• CT Driver's License for travel to offsite locations.
• Data entry/computer systems knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and with confidentiality.
• Register patients accurately and obtain necessary consents/signatures.
• Collect billing information and enter diagnoses and orders.
• Enter orders in the computer system and print requisitions.
• Communicate effectively with staff to ensure customer service quality.
• Answer phones promptly and professionally.
• Label and receive specimens in the LIS system and route appropriately.
• Serve as a customer service liaison for the laboratory.
