Job summary

CS-HHC in West Haven, CT is hiring a Patient Registrar to greet and check-in patients, assist with registrations, and answer calls. You will maintain accurate patient records, verify insurance, and collect payments in a courteous, efficient manner.

The role requires data entry proficiency, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel within Connecticut. A high school diploma or GED is required, with dental experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of office or medical experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Computer and data entry proficiency required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, internet, and email required.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a calm and organized demeanor.
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable.
• Dentrix and/or electronic dental experience are highly desirable for Dental Department positions.
• Ability to travel within Connecticut regularly; occasional evening and Saturday coverage required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and update demographic information in the computer system.
• Schedule patients into provider/clinician appointment openings.
• Ensure patients receive the next available appointments with the correct provider.
• Schedule referral appointments per policy and external institutions.
• Verify insurance coverage as indicated by billing procedures.
• Collect payments from patients and verify financial information.
• Answer telephone calls and record messages for providers.
• Stay up to date on telephone system training.
• Cross-train as requested by manager.
• Perform other departmental duties as required.
