Job summary

Danbury Hospital is seeking a Front End Automation/Lab Support role to assist technical staff with preparing specimens and equipment for patient testing. You will maintain inventory, ensure specimen integrity, and support accessioning in the LIS, while delivering strong customer service.

The position requires a High School Diploma and at least three years of related experience; an AS degree is preferred. Expect medium to heavy physical work with PPE and exposure to laboratory environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma and at least 3 years of related experience.
• Customer service and organizational skills required.
• AS degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains daily operations of the front end automation system (MPA) and related checks.
• Ensures specimen integrity and performs accessioning in LIS.
• Prepares control materials and performs preventive maintenance and quality checks.
• Answers phones and ensures customer satisfaction; processes add-on test requests.
• Maintains reagent inventory and proper labeling/storage of reagents.
• Files specimens, slides and reports for easy retrieval and discard schedules.
