Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a dedicated HazMat Lab Pack Associate to ensure safe and compliant handling, packaging, and shipment of hazardous waste materials. You will inventory, segregate, and prepare waste for transport while adhering to Lab Pack procedures and regulatory requirements.

The role includes on-site services, occasional travel, mentoring new staff, and maintaining safety documentation and certifications. A science degree and OSHA HAZWOPER training are required.

Qualifications

• Associate or equivalent degree in science; BS/BA preferred.
• Qualified with 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training (29 CFR 1910.120).
• 40 hours Depack experience and 8 hours DOT training are required.
• PPE training including respirators is required.
• Minimum 1 year lab pack experience.
• Ability to lift/move materials frequently exceeding 55 lbs; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous materials, inventory, identify, segregate and package waste per Lab Pack policies and regulations.
• Occasionally perform on-site services including waste collection, repackaging, sampling, safety inspections.
• Prepare shipment of packaged waste with proper labeling and documentation; ensure compliance with LDRs and regulations.
• Mentor new employees in lab pack duties; support other teams as needed.

Education

BS/BA in science related field

Associate College degree in General Science or equivalent
