Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate through NAACLS or completion of a phlebotomy program with 100 venipunctures.
• In lieu of internship, 6 months phlebotomy experience may be considered.
• In lieu of phlebotomy certification, 5+ years direct phlebotomy experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Performs functions with the computer system to document patient specimens.
• Register patients and order tests per policies for identification, registration, test orders and scanning.
• Manage ABNSN processes including codes, signatures and document management.
• Clerical tasks: file records, checklists, phones, report delivery and patient intake.
• Maintain standing orders for expirations and renewals, ensure tasks are completed.
• Provide instructions to patients for tests and any special preparation required.
• Schedule venipunctures or capillary punctures per test priority and type of study.
• Verify patient identity and prep prior to puncture; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Collect blood and other specimens, process samples, track specimens as needed.
