Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) invites applications for a Laboratory Operations Coordinator to support a multi-disciplinary team in maintaining a safe and efficient biological and chemical laboratory environment in the Asymmetric Operations Sector.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a biological and/or chemical lab.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation.
• Ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance (U.S. citizenship).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple labs including BSL2/BSL2+ and related facilities.
• Organize equipment maintenance and service contracts.
• Support general procurement needs.
• Coordinate with environmental health and safety to ensure safety practices.
• Develop new procedures to optimize lab function for multi-disciplinary work.
• Foster a culture of safety.
