Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Laboratory Operations Manager for Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital to lead hospital laboratory operations. Requires hospital laboratory operations experience with supervisory responsibilities and ASCP/AMT MLS certification.

Experience directing a team of 15+ staff is a plus. The role oversees staff supervision, quality assurance, cost efficiency and patient satisfaction for a >4 bed hospital or consolidated lab, and represents the lab in the Director's

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASCP/AMT MLS certification or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of experience in laboratory operations with supervisory experience preferred; 15+ staff leadership is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Laboratory Director to develop and implement processes that monitor and improve customer satisfaction.
• Supervises staff and laboratory processes to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Maintains inventory, staffing, and payroll processes; ensures resources are used effectively.
• Represents laboratory leadership in the Director's absence and supports regulatory compliance (TJC, CAP, CLIA, OSHA, etc.).
• Provides coaching, performance evaluations, and training to staff; promotes professional growth.
• Ensures safe patient care and adherence to Memorial Hermann policies within budget and quality standards.
