Job summary

Atrium Health Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced leader to oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory, including management of chemistry and mass spectrometry workflows. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule at the Winston Campus.

The position requires MLS/MT certification, a Bachelor's in clinical lab sciences, and at least 3 years of lab operations experience. You will direct staff, ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and drive performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences or medical technology.
• MLS or MT certification as per ASCP BOC.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in technical laboratory services and operations.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day department operations and staff guidance.
• Monitors testing quality, results evaluation, and proficiency.
• Coordinates implementation of performance improvement initiatives.
• Assists budget monitoring and addresses variances.
• Ensures regulatory, accreditation, and competency standards are met.
• Coordinates orientation, training, and competency testing.
• Develops and coaches team; manages performance and hiring decisions.
• Maintains compliance with the Code of Ethical Conduct.
• Acts as technical resource for staff.
• Ensures quality indicators and corrective actions are implemented.
