Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in MLS, biology, chemistry, or related field required or equivalent military training.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred for advancement or broader scope.
• Two years of laboratory or specimen processing experience required; three years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and sort specimens from multiple delivery sources (pneumatic tube, courier, etc.).
• Verify acceptability and labeling of specimens before entry into the LIS.
• Handle specimen processing and distribution to appropriate lab sections.
• Enter orders in EMR and Outreach LIS; manage paper requisitions as needed.
• Provide guidance to teammates; assist with training and quality assurance tasks.
