Job summary

Tempus Labs, Inc. is seeking a Lab Operations Associate in Illinois to assist with sample movement, tracking, and daily lab workflows in a CLIA/CAP-compliant environment.

You will manage LIMS queues for multiple teams and help with sample collection and storage while ensuring safety and cleanliness in the lab. The role supports a fast-paced lab, with shifts including Sunday to Wednesday 1p-11:30 and Mon-Tue, Thurs-Fri 1p-11:30.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required.
• 0-2+ years clinical laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of CAP regulations.
• Experience with SOPs and lab protocols.
• Comfort with lab safety and training.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills in the laboratory.
• Good communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sample movement and tracking throughout the laboratory.
• Manage working queues in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for multiple lab teams.
• Assist with sample gathering and consolidation for project requests.
• Track and manage sample storage.
• Perform routine workflows without specific guidance.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the lab team to meet sample turnaround times.
• Maintain CLIA/CAP compliance through documentation assistance.
• Approach work with safety and diligence and follow safety requirements of the laboratory.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, i.e. cleaning floors, cleaning labware, disposing of biohazard.
• General lab maintenance and upkeep.

Candidates must be able to work the assigned shift. Please note that shift assignment is based on technical level, experience, and current business needs.

• Lab Operations Associate Sunday to Wednesday 1p-11:30
• Asset Archivist Mon-Tues, Thurs-Fri 1p-11:30

Illinois Pay: $20.25/hour

The expected salary range may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
