Job summary

Tempus is hiring in Illinois to support precision medicine initiatives. The role involves moving and tracking samples, managing LIMS queues across lab teams, and assisting with sample gathering for projects at Tempus labs in Chicago.

You will help track storage, perform routine workflows, and ensure safety and compliance. Working with the lab team to meet turnaround times, you will maintain cleanliness and labware while following SOPs and CAP regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with sample movement and tracking throughout the laboratory
• Manage working queues in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for multiple lab teams
• Assist with sample gathering and consolidation for project requests
• Track and manage sample storage
• Perform routine workflows without specific guidance
• Work collaboratively with other members of the lab team to meet sample turnaround times
• Work to maintain CLIA/CAP compliance through documentation assistance
• Approach work with safety and diligence and follow safety requirements of the laboratory
• Maintain lab cleanliness, i.e. cleaning floors, cleaning labware, disposing of biohazard
• General lab maintenance and upkeep

Qualifications:

• High School degree or GED required
• 0-2+ years clinical laboratory experience
• Laboratory
  • Knowledge of CAP regulations
  • Experience with laboratory SOPs and protocols
  • Comfort with laboratory safety and training
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills in the laboratory
  • Good communication and organization skills

Candidates must be able to work the assigned shift. Please note that shift assignment is based on technical level, experience, and current business needs.

Current Available Shifts:

• Lab Operations Associate Mon-Tues, Thurs-Fri 1p-11:30
• Asset Archivist Mon-Tues, Thurs-Fri 1p-11:30

Illinois Pay: $20.25/hour

The expected salary range may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
