Job summary

UW Medicine's Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA is seeking a Medical Courier to support the Reference Laboratory Services (RLS) team. You will transport specimens, reports, and supplies between UWMC facilities and client locations across Washington state, following universal precautions and ensuring specimen integrity.

The role requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work independently on a part-time schedule (~25 hours/week).

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience handling biohazardous laboratory specimens and knowledge of universal precautions.
• Customer service experience and ability to work independently.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Transport laboratory specimens, reports, and supplies between UWMC facilities and client locations.
• Maintain accurate route stops and records of specimens transported.
• Follow UW Fleet Services rules and safety procedures.
• Provide responsive service and adapt to schedule changes as needed.
