Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, FL. The role involves collecting and processing specimens, coordinating with nursing and physicians, and performing phlebotomy to support patient care.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months of phlebotomy or lab-related experience, and a valid driver’s license. This position is full-time with varying shifts and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy or laboratory experience required (6 months).
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Driver's license required.
• Phlebotomy preferred as credential equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
