Job summary

BayCare Health System in Dunedin, FL is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II at Mease Dunedin Hospital. You will collect, receive, and process specimens for testing, coordinate with nursing and physicians, and perform phlebotomy as needed.

This role requires 6 months of phlebotomy or laboratory experience, a high school diploma or equivalent (or a related Bachelor's degree), and a valid Driver's License. PRN position with a 7:00 am - 3:30 pm shift may include weekend work.

Qualifications

• 6 months phlebotomy or laboratory experience, or related field.
• High School diploma or equivalent; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories and interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
