Job summary

BayCare Health System in Westchase, Florida seeks a Lab Medical Assistant II to join our Outreach Lab team. This full-time role supports inpatient and outpatient testing, with a schedule 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities include collecting, receiving and processing specimens, communicating with nursing staff, referring specimens to outside labs, and performing phlebotomy under supervision.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience required or related laboratory experience.
• High School diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred in related field.
• Experience with specimen collection and processing is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories as needed.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
