Job summary

BayCare Health System in Safety Harbor, FL is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II (PRN) to collect, receive and process specimens, coordinating with nursing and physicians to ensure accurate referrals and testing.

This role requires at least 6 months of phlebotomy or related laboratory experience, with a high school diploma or an equivalent degree; a related bachelor's degree can substitute for experience. A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field.
• Required High School or equivalent; or Bachelor's related field in lieu of experience.
• Driver's License preferred; Phlebotomy credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
